AB-410 arrived in 2026 alongside a certification retirement, so it is worth being precise about what it is and what it is not:

  • PL-200 retired on 31 August 2026. The Power Platform Functional Consultant Associate certification can no longer be earned or renewed, and AB-410 is the Power Platform maker path forward for anyone certifying now.
  • A PL-200 you already hold is not cancelled. Retirement stops new sittings and renewals. A certification already earned stays valid until its own expiry date, which is why AB-410 is the better use of an exam fee going forward.
  • It is a maker exam, not an Azure exam. The AI surface is AI Hub, Copilot across Power Apps, Power Automate and Microsoft Dataverse, and Microsoft Copilot Studio. Microsoft Foundry and the Azure AI services belong to AI-103.
  • Business logic carries the most weight. Building business application logic and automation is 40 to 45 percent of the scored content, so cloud flows, AI Hub, and business rules deserve the bulk of your revision.
  • It counts towards the Expert track. AB-410 appears on the list of qualifying Associate certifications for the Expert-level AB-100 credential, so it is an on-ramp rather than a dead end.
